Finally...an update!

Wow, its been a long time since I’ve written on this blog. Lets see why.

Working full time, taking care of a now 20 month old (wow, how did she get that old), being a wife, and more recently starting up a little online business. (my etsy store is here.... http://www.etsy.com/shop/LexiekinPrints )

But the main reason I wanted to write something is just to document how much I am enjoying motherhood, and in particular my wonderful daughter. I warn you, its gonna be a long one. I am really enjoying this stage. She is talking, well as much as a 20 month old can, and its amazing the number of new words she is saying every day.

Some of her favourite words....

Please and thankyou – she has been signing and saying this for sometime now. She always signs it still when she says it, and will easily say it when prompted, and sometimes without. For a while she was saying please ALL the time, because she has got what she wanted then, but now its faded off. The way she says thank you makes me smile every time.

NO – luckily its not as frequent as it was a couple months ago

Done – she says this a lot right now. Done. Done. Done. I think this has replaced no J

UPPY – for some reason when she wants up, she says this. I think its a combination of up and please.

Walk – sooo funny. We started saying walk to stop her from running in the house...but now when we say it, she has to grab one of us by the hand and we need to walk across the house with her. She’s even happier if DH and I both walk with her. You should see the big smile on her face when we do this. Apparently she does this at daycare with one of the other little girls there.

Peepee – she defiantly knows when she is wet, or might need to go. Potty training hasn’t happened yet. We almost tried, but then didn’t think she was quite ready yet.

Boots – LOVE the way she says this..so cute. And she could put them on and off ALL day long.

Oh boy, so many more...I better stop there.

But one recent one word is CLOCK. Put she doesn’t say the L...so yeah, you know what that means. Haha

Personality – this is how I would describe her right now

Independant or stuborn(can’t force her to ANYTHING –she loves to do everything on her own. It goes much smoother if you let her do it herself. Ie – me cleaning her face/hands = screaming, her doing it = very happy girl

Cautious – when we go somewhere new, or are in large group (ie our soccer nights), or with new people, she likes to just stand and stare and take everything in. After she feels safe then she’ll venture into the group...kinda

Thrill seeker – this is just what I think she is going to be like. I predict she is going to love rides etc. She loves being thrown up in the air, or push around in things, or throwing her self backwards yelling WEEEEE. Sometimes I worry that she will hurt her head...but so far ok, and she loves it.

Busy - oh boy. Sometimes I crave a little girl that I can just lay down with, cuddle with on the couch. But no way! I have learned to savour the odd, 1-2 minutes of cuddle time...but other then that...its GO GO GO!

Smart – of course I think this cause I’m her mom – but she just amazes us daily with what she knows.

Discipline - we have had some issues with this. More with me figuring out the best thing for us. I'm not gonna go into to much detail right now..but we do use short time outs in some cases, and while a month ago it was rather rough...right now she is being pretty well behaved. This of course is likely to change at any point now.

Well I have to stop there for now...I could go on and on. Here is a recent picture too...of her mopping while we were out at a childrens museum. Just adorable I think!
