I figure the best way to get myself motivated is to write it down. I've fallen off the wagon lately, and need to get back on.
I've always struggled with my weight. But just before we did IVF, it was recommended that I lose some weight to make our chances better. They said, to lose 30 pounds...I lost 40. This was great! I am so proud of myself for being able to do it, and do it relatively quickly. And obviously it worked!
The problem then was, I stopped the diet the day we could potientially have been pregnant. This was not the smartest move. I know I couldn't keep dieting, but I should have kept eating healthy. Instead I didn't, and not only did I gain babyfat, but I also rebounded from the diet and gained...well more then I would like to admit.
Then I thought, when the baby is born, I will be breastfeeding, I'll be eating healthy, and it will come off so easily. Boy I was wrong. Breastfeeding didn't work, and the healthy eating didn't come back so easily.
I have tried weight watchers, and I have lost some pounds since starting it, but I have so much further I want to go. And like I said, I have not been doing so good with it lately. I need some more motivation. My short term goal is get down to where I was prepregnancy. I would like to do that sooner rather then later, but I defiently want to be there by the time I go back to work in June. I will need to get new scrubs for work, and I want to be able to get smaller ones! Once I get to the goal, then I hope to be able to continue on and lose more...but for the timebeing, I am just focusing on this.
So, I have 35 pounds I want to lose right now!. Yikes! I'm right back where I was before the IVF journey.
Other then just to feel better, the reason I'm on a tiny mission right now, is my mom was just diagnosed with Diabetes. Her mom had it too. So, since I also have PCOS, and am overweight, I know that I too am at a big risk. It's such an awful disease. My uncle has it, and he is bound to lose one or both of his legs very soon....so sad!
So, to start me out I joined Diaper fit classes this week. I know it's a weird name, but basically its aquafit where you can bring your baby, and use them as some resistance in the pool! Then I went to a mall, and walked around a bunch. It may not sound like much, but right now it's better then nothing.you can't expect miracles can you?
I don't think I will start weight watchers exactly, but I will watch what I eat.
If I can figure it out on here, I am going to put a ticker on my blog to show my progress. So feel free to give me a kick in the butt if I'm not doing what I should be!
My weigh ins will be on Monday AM's.
Wish me luck!
